  Suggestions for donations to Hurricane relief efforts

  we sure that your hearts, like ours, are touched by the disaster of katrina and the impact for time to come on those directly affected.

  not only have these folks lost homes but many will have lost jobs as well.

  there will surely by pleas for monitary help from those intent only on lining their pockets.. any experience with those who should and shouldn't be sent donations?

  Salvation Army has low operating expenses and a good reputation. I also donate to the Red Cross. Also Doctors Without Borders has a good rep.

  I quit!

  I haven't used a hookah, or what we sometimes called a waterpipe since my days as a teenage pothead before the watchtower entered my life. I have see a show on tv showing clubs where you can smoke them with regular tobacco. It looks like it would be fun to try sometime. If the only time you smoked was when you went to one of these places it probably wouldn't do you much harm like occasional cigar or pipe smoking.

  hurricane katrina is heading for new orleans, la, and will hit it by this afternoon.

  it is the largest hurricane known in history.

  the entire storm range covers more than 50% of the gulf of mexico.

  As humans we have a very short life span and very limited view of the universe and eternity so it is easy for us to believe that there is a God or that there isn't a god. Or that because of the bad things we see God must be indifferent or evil. Others draw the conclusion that God is good. It is kind of like the tale of the blind men and the elephant each feeling a different part comes to a different conclusion of what the elephant looks like.

  I quit!

  I saw quite a few instances where this happened. I once had a roomate who put on disguises so he could sneak around his ex-wife's house trying to catch her in adultery so he would be free to remarry. He wanted me to be involved as a witness. Needless to say I thought he was a jerk and declined. He was interested in friend of a girl I knew at another congregation. The sister I knew and her friend asked me what he was like. I told them he was a nightmare to live with and that I was planning on moving. She never went out with him. I always felt good about that.

  To All Of The Kids Who Survived the .....

  first, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

  they took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.. .

  then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.. .

  lets say that there is a "great tribulation" in our time, how will the average witness survive it?

  first of all, they don't even know what it is, or when it will happen.

  the great tribulation could be a nuclear war or anything man made.

  I don't think he is stupid. I think he knew exactly what he was doing. Trying to stay on the front page. I think he is the kind of person that would say just about anything to get attention.
